Tony Awards 2010

Well I thought the show started and ended good but everything in between was AWFUL. The opening was a good idea, numbers from all the new shows & Sean Hayes did a good job But most of the show made everyone & every show look terrible Lea Michelle's Don't Rain On My Parade wasn't good and just needed direction, Katherine Zeta-Jone's spastic Send In The Clowns, Best Musical Memphis sounded horrible (I'm not a fan of the show but wouldn't call it awful, just mediocre & offensive) American Idiot & Come Fly Away were the only shows to shine & make me want to see them, that lead woman from Come Fly Away is AMAZING! Though I wish Green Day would just let the cast of their show perform it. The Tony's is in DESPERATE need of a competent Director the AWFUL camera work, all the mic problems & unflattering show number choices are just unacceptable and can easily be fixed. And just show the damn Best Play scenes rather than having the actors describe the show, dumb idea. Damnit, Queens can put on a better show than this! Yes it was a bad year for musicals, Memphis & Addams Family, enough said but remember the year there was only 1 nominee for Best Score (Sunset Blvd) & Jerome Robbin's Broadway as Best New Musical (an excellent REVUE) so here's to the slew of new shows slated this season and this past year was the biggest financially in Broadway history so on to bigger & better!
